Three Arrested in Sex Trafficking Investigation

An investigation into alleged sex trafficking by the Scottsbluff and Gering Police Departments and the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff’s Office led to today’s execution of four search warrants and the arrest of the following individuals:

James “Jimbo” Gutierrez, age 65, of Gering was arrested on two counts of sex trafficking and one count of third degree sexual assault; Jeffrey B Calder, age 60, of Scottsbluff, was arrested on one count of sex trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and two counts of possession of a short shotgun; Justin Kumm, age 39 of Scottsbluff, was arrested on one count of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

In addition to the primary agencies, investigators with the WING Task Force and the Nebraska State Patrol assisted with the operation today.

Officers seized a number of firearms, suspected methamphetamine, cellular telephones and other electronic storage devices.
