On a cold, wet, and windy Saturday morning the Alliance seventh grade football team played host to Sidney. The Raiders were unaffected by the conditions and steam rolled to a 48 to 0 win. With the loss, AMS now sees their record drop to 0 and 4 for the year.
There was no B game due to lack of players.
Alliance received the ball first but a fumble of the Dog's third play stopped the drive. Sidney got the ball and quickly went on the attack. A nice reverse by the Raiders got the guests close. A one yard touchdown run got Sidney on the board. End of the first period saw Alliance down 8 to 0. Woes continued for the Bulldogs in the second quarter. A long touchdown pass covering 70 yards gave the Raiders more breathing room. The half ended with the Dogs stopping Sidney's final drive but still down 28 to 0.
The second half began with another Sidney score and an Alliance interception which led to another Raider touchdown. In the fourth the teams traded punches but AMS would not break through. Final Sidney 48 AMS 0

"We knew going in that this would be a tough contest. Sidney had played Gering very close the week before so we knew we wouldhave our hands full. They were able to get to the outside and make some nice plays in the air to keep us off balanced. We were missing 4 starters out because of injuries and
left with only 14 total players so depth was an issue. The coaches still are seeing improvements," said Coach Mark Glesinger.
Last Tuesday, Gering came to town and defeat the Dogs 40 to 6. The game was similar to a contest played in Gering on September 14 which AMS lost 42 to 0. Gering used their strong running game and tough defense and controlled both lines of attack. AMS did get a nice long run by Jake Cotton on one of the drives to help the Dogs get on the scoreboard. A 3 yard touchdown run by Cotton accounted for the points by Alliance. The Bulldogs got a big lift from Zoe Bunnell who make many tackles from her defensive position.
AMS will end their year with a game in Torrington on Saturday and a home contest against Chadron on Tuesday.
