Middle School Bobcats Travel to Chadron

The Hemingford Middle School track team made their way to Chadron on Saturday to compete in the Chadron Invitational Track Meet, showing a competitive side.

Coach Randy Hiemstra believes the athletes showed strength at their meet, noting their competitive nature.

“Our junior high kids did an outstanding job Saturday at a very competitive meet in Chadron. As coaches, we were very happy with how they prepared for their events and competed,” said Hiemstra.

The following are the results from the meet:

Seventh Grade Boys:

200 Meters:

Petar Carlson claimed ninth place with a time of 32.00.

400 Meters:

Petar Carlson claimed eighth place with a time of 1:11.08.

Eighth Grade Boys:

100 Meters:

Neo Powell claimed first place with a time of 12.52.

Darin Turek took eighth place with a time of 13.15.

400 Meters:

Darin Turek claimed fourth place with a time of 1:00.90.

Neo Powell took fifth place with a time of 1:00.97.

100m Hurdles:

Keagan Hitchcock tied for sixth place with Hayden Umble, of Mitchell, with a time of 18.03.

200m Hurdles:

Cody Rathjen claimed eighth place with a time of 33.89.

4X100 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Cody Rathjen, Neo Powell, Darin Turek and Hunter Wyland, claimed third place with a time of 52.31.

4X400 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Neo Powell, Cody Rathjen, Darin Turek and Hunter Wyland, claimed second place with a time of 4:12.65.

Shotput:

Hunter Wyland claimed first place with a throw of 41’09.25”.

Jett Eggers took ninth place with a throw of 33’02.75”.

Discus:

Hunter Wyland claimed second place with a throw of 111”08.

Rich Turek took 10th place with a throw of 92’.

Triple Jump:

Brycen Schock claimed eighth place with a jump of 28’10”.

Seventh Grade Girls:

1600 Meters:

Carlye Kresl claimed seventh place with a time of 6:36.09.

4X100 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Lilly Hasenauer, Mikayla Kumpf, Breana Specht and Brookelynn Warner, claimed fourth place with a time of 1:02.35.

4X400 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Lilly Hasenauer, Mikayla Kumpf, Breana Specht and Brookelynn Warner, claimed sixth place with a time of 5:44.83.

Discus:

Isabell Gomez claimed sixth place with a throw of 59’08”.

Triple Jump:

Lauren Garner claimed seventh place with a jump of 24’01.50.

Eighth Grade Girls:

200 Meters:

Kambree Walker claimed third place with a time of 30.46.

400 Meters:

Jayda Meyring claimed fourth place with a time of 1:07.95.

800 Meters:

Catherine Bryner claimed 10th place with a time of 3:03.12.

1600 Meters:

Catherine Bryner claimed ninth place with a time of 6:42.13.

4X400 Relay:

The Hemingford team of Avery Davies, Catherine Bryner, Jayda Meyring and Kambree Walker claimed second place with a time of 4:52.24.

Discus:

Avery Davies claimed 10th place with a throw of 61’09”.

Long Jump:

Jayda Meyring claimed seventh place with a jump of 12’02”.

Triple Jump:

Brinna Phillips claimed fourth place with a jump of 26’11.25”.
