Playing for UW

Alliance High senior Emersen Cyza signed her letter of intent to play volleyball for the University of Wyoming this past Wednesday.

Emersen’s mom Pam and coach Jessica Kaiser joined her at the table for the occasion.

Emersen noted she has been going to football games at UW since she was little. She has been interested in playing volleyball at the school since eighth grade. They invited her to campus freshman year and Cyza said she was interested as a sophomore. She explained she “kind of always” wanted to go to Wyoming. She fell in love with the college and said, “Everything kind of fell in place.” At UW she will be playing the outside or right side. This year she led the Bulldogs with 571 kills.

This season AHS reached the state tournament, their first appearance since 2000. Cyza was one of the team leaders and contributed on the court. “This season (has been) by far the best … because of state and we won Districts. We’re family.”

She talked about playing with teammates Ryley Rolls and Megan Oligmueller. “Got stuff done.”
