The Alliance High varsity boys basketball team went 1-1 against rival Bulldogs, beating Gering at home 67-52 Friday then losing a close contest at North Platte Saturday, 69-65.

“Hard fought win. Played outstanding for the first 14 minutes of the game to build a 20-point lead,” Head Coach Michael Baker said of Friday’s win. “Gering cut it to 13 at halftime and then scored the first 7 points of the third quarter to reduce the lead to 6. The score margin remained at that level until the final two minutes when Alliance pulled away late with some steals and layups and free throws. Pleased that our boys were able to keep their poise as the action intensified late in the fourth quarter.”
