Bobcats Use Chadron Meet to Prepare for Conference

On April 18, the Hemingford Bobcats traveled to Chadron to compete in the Twilight meet, where their athletes saw success in preparation for conference.

Head Coach Randy Hiemstra said the meet was a good practice run for other larger meets as the athletes hone their skills.

“We used this meet trying to qualify or improve our positions for the Best of the West and as always, establish PR's & SR's. For the most part, we were able to accomplish our goals on a windy afternoon and evening,” said Hiemstra.

The following are the results from the meet from the athletes who placed in the top 10 in their events:

Boys Varsity:

100 Meters:

Casey Lashley claimed first place with a time of 11.14.

200 Meters:

Simon Bessel claimed third place with a time of 24.53.

400 Meters:

Wiley Rudloff claimed third place with a time of 57.58.

Ethan Specht took fourth place with a time of 58.95.

Simon Bessel placed seventh with a time of 1:00.90.

800 Meters:

John Ansley claimed second place with a time of 2:23.21.

Jacob Clouse took sixth place with a time of 2:29.84.

Jaydon Walker placed seventh with a time of 2:31.50.

1600 Meters:

Jacob Clouse claimed second place with a time of 5:43.51.

Braden Christopherson took fifth place with a time of 5:57.68.

Joe Mazanec placed eighth with a time of 7:06.34.

110m Hurdles:

Casey Lashley claimed first place with a time of 15.56.

300m Hurdles:

Wiley Rudloff claimed first place with a time of 44.58.

4X100 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Carter Buchheit, Ethan Specht, Casey Lashley and Brian Turek, claimed first place with a time of 46.63.

4X400 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Brian Turek, Carter Buchheit, Ethan Specht and Wiley Rudloff, claimed first place with a time of 3:48.27.

4X800 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of John Ansley, Carter Buchheit, Ethan Specht and Jaydon Walker, claimed second place with a time of 9:30.92.

Shotput:

Cade Payne claimed fourth place with a throw of 38’00”.

Kenny Wyland took fifth place with a throw of 37’05”.

Jake Sellman placed ninth with a throw of 35’09”.

Discus:

Jake Sellman claimed third place with a throw of 120’09”.

Kenny Wyland took sixth place with a throw of 102’08”.

Long Jump:

Brian Turek claimed second place with a jump of 18’06.25”.

Simon Bessel took seventh place with a jump of 16’10.75”.

Triple Jump:

Carter Buchheit claimed third place with a jump of 35’10.50”.

John Ansley took fourth place with a jump of 34’10.50”.

Boys Junior Varsity:

200 Meters:

Jacob Clouse claimed sixth place with a time of 27.28.

Braden Christopherson took ninth place with a time of 27.87.

800 Meters:

Girls Varsity:

100 Meters:

Elizabeth Mayer claimed ninth place with a time of 14.00.

200 Meters:

Elizabeth Mayer claimed sixth place with a time of 29.09.

Kamryn Ash took eighth place with a time of 29.53.

400 Meters:

Josie Stewart claimed fourth place with a time of 1:05.40.

Destiny Hanson took seventh place with a time of 1:11.15.

Alysen Turek claimed 10th place with a time of 3:22.53.

1600 Meters:

Kamryn Ash claimed third place with a time of 18.06.

Jori Stewart claimed second place with a time of 54.53.

The Hemingford team, made up of Elizabeth Mayer, Kamryn Ash, Jori Stewart and Josie Stewart, claimed fourth place with a time of 56.70.

4X400 Relay:

The Hemingford team, made up of Jori Stewart, Kamryn Ash, Destiny Hanson and Josie Stewart, claimed fourth place with a time of 4:45.03.

Shotput:

Emily Knote claimed ninth place with a throw of 26’02”.

Discus:

Landrie Nelson claimed eighth place with a throw of 80’08”.
