Thursday evening the gym at the Alliance High School was the place to be. The Alliance High School Bulldog Wrestlers took on Scottsbluff Bearcats. This was the first home appearance of the season for the Bulldog wrestlers.
The evening began with junior varsity of which two matches took place. At 120 Tyson Knaub won by fall over Bearcat Jordi Gonzalez and at 126 Michael Van Kerrebrook won by tech fall over Ransen Wilkins. No team score was kept for junior varsity.
Next to hit the mat was the varsity boys. Following a motivating entrance, pumping up both the crowd and the wrestlers, matches began.
Alliance came out ahead with an impressive 57 to 24 overall win.

Every wrestler on both sides put in 100 percent effort. As stated by head coach Nick Myers,” The boys wrestled hard, improved on positions, had miles of heart and had tremendous support for one another.”
Some highlight matches included Bailey Hood against Noah Fuentes at 220. Hood took to the mat and 14 seconds later had Fuentes pinned.
Zane Stoike at 106, only being his second varsity match, came out with determination and drive and pinned Isaiah Lopez in just under a minute.
The Bulldogs will be in action Saturday as they travel to Cheyenne East giving the wrestlers a chance to iron some things out before heading to Valentine Friday.
