Children shoot arrows at their targets this past week in the upper level of the former Woolrich factory. The Alliance Archery Club has utilized this expansive space as their off-season range for years. A warm place during winter, the range includes 3D targets among re-purposed Christmas trees.

On the poured floor, athletes of every age and ability step up for their favorite sport, activity or pastime. Puzzled by players on the north end of the Alliance Recreation Center (ARC) gym? Don’t be. What appears to be a cross between tennis and life-size ping pong is a real game — pickle ball.

The Alliance High wrestling team took fifth place in the Southwest Wyoming (Yoder) tournament this past Saturday. Losing their first dual of the day, the best they could hope for was fifth.

CHADRON — The Alliance Bulldogs visited Chadron Tuesday evening for varsity basketball action. In the boys game, AHS easily caged the Cardinals 68-42. Alliance’s varsity girls were on the other side as the Bulldogs would battle but would eventually fall to Chadron 44-25.
