Wasn’t that eclipse awesome?! There are some fantastic photos of it, but none of them can compare to physically seeing it with your own two eyes. My hazels weren’t blinded by the sun, but by the beauty of something that occurs so naturally. I had goosebumps the entire time.

Unlike last weekend, this weekend looks to be pretty relaxing. There are a few people putting in work, however.

If you’re looking for a good morning exercise, head to the YMCA for their Fitness Meet Up 5 at 8 a.m. However, the exercise is a mystery, for those who enjoy a surprise with their workout or for those looking to switch their routine up a little.

Simultaneously at 8 a.m. is a garage sale for the Pillars for the Park. They “will be gathering donations to be sold at a indoor garage sale, the proceeds will go to the Pillars for the park.” All donations will be welcome aside from clothing, according to their Facebook event.

If you missed the Pillars event at 8 a.m. this morning, don’t worry there is another event this evening at 5 p.m. to benefit the Pillars for the Park. A silent auction will take place at the Eagles with proceeds going to the Pillars. They’ll be fixing a chicken fried steak dinner as well. That’s a dinner I don’t think I’ll be missing.

That’s all this weekend, which is fortunate for those who feel burned out from the eclipse (hopefully not your eyes!) and unfortunate for those who love to keep moving. My wife and I took our wedding photos out at Carhenge after the eclipse and met a few people out there while waiting. Naturally, a wedding dress is bound to draw attention.

They gave us a few stories of their own and how they met their significant other. They also gave various compliments to the city; they loved how welcoming and helpful everyone seemed. Take the weekend off Alliance. You deserve it! #BestHometown
