If there’s a weekend meant for rest and relaxation, this weekend would be the weekend for that. Personally, I’ve been a little worn out, but I’m going to blame this horrific cold that I’ve had for the past week or two (though it feels like I can’t remember what it was like to not have a cold).
There is absolutely nothing going on this weekend … Just kidding!
Pheasants Forever is hosting a Youth Mentor Hunt out at Gene Giles’ place. Apparently there is a drawing at the end for a possible hunting dog, too! Who will be the lucky kid to take home a dog?
The Carnegie Arts is hosting three pumpkin decorating workshops on Sunday, one for youth and one for adults. There are two sessions, one from 1 to 2 p.m. and another from 3 to 4 p.m. Both sessions are booked as of Friday though it’s possible somebody may cancel or may not show for those interested in signing their kids up. The cost is $15 per pumpkin and an additional $5 for every pumpkin after up to a maximum of four pumpkins.
As for the adults, the session takes place at 6 until 8 p.m., costing $20 to attend. There is apparently some open spots left if anyone is interested in tapping into their creative side. Food and drinks will be provided.
That’s it folks! I’ll be attending some training in Scottsbluff on Saturday for Youth Mental Health First Aid. I don’t hold any job that requires me to have this training, but I’ve always been passionate about helping people. Having grown up under difficult and challenging circumstances, I want to be able to help others growing up under those same (or worse) circumstances.
At any rate, enjoy your weekend Alliance! Whether you’re playing outside or choosing to stay inside, make this weekend enjoyable for you in whatever way that might be. That’s what I’ll be doing.
