William Edward Wilson

February 13, 1943-June 23, 2019

William Edward Wilson, known to friends as “Bill”, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the age of 76.

Born and raised in Alliance, Nebraska, Bill was the son of parents, Homer and Verna Wilson. He left Nebraska after high school and moved to San Angelo where he spent time working in the oil fields. A career change brought Bill to Dallas, Texas when he began working for the Dallas Museum of Natural History as a floor attendant. Over the years, Bill moved up through the museum to became the curator of mammals and exhibits where he remained until his retirement after 30 years.

Bill loved spending time with family and friends. An avid sports fan, he loved watching golf and the Dallas Cowboys especially cheering on his beloved Nebraska Huskers. On Sundays, you could find Bill and his wife enjoying their favorite dishes at Rafa’s Cafe.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Wilson. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Ann (Edwards) Wilson; godchildren Margaret “Mandy” Mudge Clakley and husband Michael of Plano, Edmund “Web” Webster Mudge IV and wife Ashley of Dallas and William “Will” Tillery of Dallas; brother Robert Wilson of Dallas; sister Jean Gauthier of Phoenix, Arizona, sister-in-law Sheila Wilson of Alliance, Nebraska, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Bill’s honor to a charity of your choice.
