Kayla Brooke Fillis, 35, was born in Alliance, NE on October 25, 1983. Kayla lived in Alliance until moving to Kentucky following high school graduation in 2002. She enjoyed being with her friends and attending dance lessons from age 5 until her senior solo recital. 

Kayla lived in Kentucky and Tennessee until her passing on Friday evening, April 19, 2019 at the University of Vanderbilt Medical Center in Tennessee.

Kayla is survived by her two children Anthony “Tony” (age 14) and Brooklee Burnette (age 12) of Goodlettsville, TN, her parents, Dan (Tana) Fillis of Alliance and Lana Flood of Radcliff, KY, sister Colette Yardley of Chadron, NE, half siblings Nick (Beth) Flood, Crystal (Adam) Shaft, Stephanie Flood (Abdul), Joseph and Shayna Hardin all of Kentucky. Step sisters Tara (Nick) Harpold of Gering, NE, and Tatum (Jake) Hlavacek of Casper, WY, Grandparents Darla Hart (Bob Henderson) and Betty Fillis-Smith of Alliance, NE, Richard Hart of Hot Springs, SD, and Jim Fillis of Bridgeport, NE, several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and life time friend Karen Sanders of Scottsbluff, NE.

Kayla was preceded in death by Steve Flood of Alliance and Frank Hardin of Kentucky.

A celebration of life for Kayla’s family members will be held in Alliance, NE in July 2019.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s personal choice in Kayla’s name.
