Hope Marsh McNay

August 10, 1927-March 8, 2019

Hope Marsh McNay passed away March 8, 2019 at her home in Whittier, California.  She was born August 10, 1927 in Pangburn, Arkansas to Vern and Zora Marsh.  The family moved to Alliance, Nebraska when Hope was 5 ½ months old.  She graduated from Alliance High School and was employed at the Burlington Railroad office for several years.

Hope married Robert McNay on October 18, 1950.  Two daughters were born from that union.  They moved to Whittier, California in 1952.  Hope was the branch manager at a Bank of America for 25 years.   Robert preceded her in death on September 7, 2015.

She was a member of Granada Heights Friends Church in LaMirada, California and was active in many aspects of the services of the church.

Hope is survived by her daughters Shelley (Chuck) Davis and Cheri (Tom) Carpenter, her grandsons Brian Davis and Jason (Jen) Carpenter, her granddaughters Brandi (Jeremiah) Lauber and Ashley Carpenter.  She has seven grandchildren.  Hope is also survived by four sisters Pat Langham, Ruby (Jack) Ledger, Norma (Kerry) Hawk, and Shirley (Bill Neufeld) Brown, four nephews, six nieces and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Judy Abrams and Veda Inouye, her brother C.J. “Bus” Marsh and a niece Denise Marsh.

A graveside service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
