BURTON McKENDRE WOODS, 84 of Las Vegas, NV passed away Dec 6, 2019. He was born May 1, 1935, to John M. Woods and Elsie M. Burton in Rushville, NE. He graduated from Alliance High school, in Alliance, NE class of 1953. He graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron, NE in 1959 with a B.A. Degree in Chemistry and Math. He married Alice Johnson in 1959, they divorced in 1970. He served in the Army from 1959 until 1961 and was in the U.S. Army Chemical Corps Research stationed at Dugway Proving Ground in Dugway, Utah. He was employed by the United Testing Laboratories with the Atlas Missle Program. He also worked at Bacchus Works, in Magna, Utah on the Minuteman and Polaris programs. He worked at Hercules Power Company at Sunflower Army Munitions Plant in DeSoto, KS and was also employed as an agent for Pyramid Life Insurance Company. He did oil drilling for a while and retired from the State of Kansas in 1999. On June 11, 1972, he married Gloria (Glochberger) Foster. his hobbies include reading and playing video poker. Survivors include his wife Gloria, children Keith (Colleen) Foster, Russett (Greg) Goulding, Stuart (Susan) Craig. Five grandchildren, one great granddaughter, Olivia Goulding and a sister Verlene (Don) Phillip of Hermosa, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carmen Greenawalt.
