A snowdrift engulfs a fence south of Alliance. The second “bomb cyclone” of the year was set to hit the region with 10 inches or more of snow as the system rolled through the area Wednesday and Thursday. Those totals fell a bit short for Alliance, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyo., with only 2.5 inches blanketing the city. The highest gust of wind recorded for Alliance came Thursday morning, topping out at 45 mph. The next chance for precipitation will come Tuesday afternoon.
