A rollover accident on Nance Road Monday afternoon sent three juveniles to the hospital to be treated for injuries.
According to Deputy Preston Walls, with the Box Butte County Sheriff’s Office, a juvenile was driving the vehicle that was involved in the wreck.
“The vehicle was driving west on Nance Road approximately .6 miles past CR 62 at about 60 miles per hour,” said Walls. “The juvenile driver advised that he was driving too fast for the conditions and ran off the road right.
Walls explained that vehicle struck a pole while rolling off the road.
“The vehicle slid and rolled approximately one and a half times and hit a utility pole on the center passenger side of the vehicle.”
Three juveniles, including the driver, occupied the vehicle at the time of the accident. They were transported to Box Butte General Hospital where they were treated for injuries and then released. The vehicle was totaled.
Walls advised people to stay cautious while driving to help avoid wrecks.
“Be aware of the weather and road conditions at all times,” said Walls. “Drive appropriately for those conditions. With the winter coming up, we do get a lot of accidents, and you just simply can’t drive the same as you would during the summertime.”
