This months Alliance Chamber of Commerce Spotlight Business of the Month was presented to K.L. Wood & Co. LLC by the Chamber Ambassadors as part of their regular monthly meeting this past Wednesday.

Established in 1975, K.L. Wood & Co. LLC has been in business for 44 years. K.L. Wood is a family owned construction business based in Alliance and serving the surrounding areas. K.L. Wood was originally founded by Ken and Lynda Wood and is currently owned and operated by Ken, Lyle and Aaron Wood. Kari Farritor (Wood) also assists the family business on the clerical side of things.

Originally a plumbing and ditching company, K.L. Wood has expanded into a general contracting business specializing in excavation, concrete, demolition, and utility placement. The company averages 12 to 15 employees depending on the work load. Many of these employees have been with the company for 10 plus years.

K.L. Wood has had the opportunity to stay local and do much of their work right here in Alliance, frequently doing jobs for the City of Alliance, Box Butte County Road Dept., BNSF Railway, WNCC and the Alliance Public Schools. Some of their past projects include the City Fountain Restoration, Downtown Improvements, AHS PAC, WNCC Lineman Facility, City of Alliance Well Water Treatment Facility, and many others. 2019 projects include the City of Alliance Storm Water Improvements at the Landfill, City of Alliance Airport Storage Building, Hemingford Paving Replacement, AHS Gym HVAC Renovation and rock crushing for Box Butte County.

K.L. Wood and Co. LLC is proud to belong to the Alliance Chamber of Commerce and believes that the Chamber is an asset to the community. Thank you to all that have helped support our company over the years.

This months business visitation was Western Nebraska Community College Powerline Facility. The visit included a tour of the recently added indoor Pole Lab which allows for students to continue their training even during inclement weather.
