After listening to guidance from Panhandle Public Health District and reviewing the Directed Health Measures issued by Governor Pete Ricketts, staff at the Alliance Times-Herald has made the decision to postpone the community garage sale that was set to take place the weekend of June 13.

Shaun Friedrichsen, Alliance Times-Herald Director of Operations said the decision to postpone the community event until 2021 was a tough one to make.

“We’ve been monitoring the situation with the coronavirus very closely since it began,” said Friedrichsen. “We didn’t want to make a snap decision since this was supposed to be the inaugural year for our community-wide event; however, after local health officials issued their guidelines for garage sales this summer, we ultimately had no choice but to postpone. While we are saddened by this turn of events, we are looking forward to the forging a bright future for the Alliance Times-Herald community-wide garage sale.”

Staff at the Alliance Times-Herald will be planning to host the community-wide garage sale in 2021, and will announce a date at a later time.
