The American Legion presented Lt. Col. William Glassbrenner with a Quilt of Valor on Jan. 11. The Quilt of Valor Foundation has presented 242,486 quilts nationwide since its inception in 2003.
Dr. William Glassbrenner, Lt. Col. United States Air Force, retired, served in the U.S. Army at Fort Sam Houston in Texas and Fort Riley, Kan. After discharge, he joined the Air National Guard serving in Lincoln for five years and transferred to the 153rd ANG Clinic, Cheyenne, Wyo. after moving to Alliance. His clinic was occasionally activated to Central and South America, Europe and Asia. He retired after serving 29 years of military service during the Vietnam and Desert Storm Wars.
During his career he received medals for Humanitarian Service, Meritorious Service, Training Others, National Defense and Small Arms Expert.
